I recently had an operation and was very worried about receiving a general anaesthetic . Dr Uncles was so reassuring and talked me through the alternatives and I agreed to have a regional anaesthetic plus something to make me very relaxed. I am pleased to say that the combination worked very well. I was aware of the activity but I felt no pain at all.
What impressed me was his air of calm, compassion and ability to explain the anaesthetic procedure in such an uncomplicated way.

David Uncles was the anaesthetist for my hip replacement. I found him to be friendly relatable informative and a very calming presence as my operation took place. Both he and his assistant were all one could hope for in pre op preparation.

David Uncles took time and showed great patience when talking to me prior to the operation. I appreciated his understanding of my concerns regarding my diabetes and hypotension. He reassured me again in the operating room when he met me just before the operation. I felt very confident under his care and thank him for the time he took.

I am a specialist Anaesthetist with interests in Obstetric, Ambulatory and Inpatient anaesthesia. I employ a variety of anaesthetic techniques including general or regional anaesthesia, although I often use them in combination to optimise and enhance patients' peri and post-operative experience.
I am dedicated to putting the patient first through the provision of safe and reassuring care delivered in conjunction with my colleagues and associates.
I was present at the inauguration of the Helsinki Declaration in June 2010. This enshrines the values essential to the promotion of the highest professional and safety standards expected of anaesthetists. It is my hope to match or even exceed the expectations of patients who place their trust in me.
